Care difficulty: EASY - MODERATE
The Calathea Insignis is better known as 'rattlesnake' due to the striking appearance of its breath-taking, ever-green leaves. Not only do their leaves attract the eye, they're also excellent air purifiers - clearing toxins to keep your home fresh and healthy.
How to care:
Light - Rattlesnakes prefer medium-low light conditions - they do not direct sunlight
Water - Keep constantly damp but make sure your plant doesn't sit in water or in very wet soil. 'Little and often' is the way to go when watering this plant!Water less frequently in the winter
Air - These guys love humid air - mist their leaves every few days or use a humidifier!
Location - Place in a location that gets some indirect light but not direct afternoon sun. They like slightly warmer conditions so be sure to place away from drafts and windowsills in the winter
Food - Use one plant food capsule (comes with the plant!) and replace after 6 months.
