Boston Fern

Nephrolepis exaltatas, or Boston ferns, are powerful air purifiers with elegant fronds covered with beautiful green leaves. It’s a pretty hardy fern that is more tolerant to drought and low light conditions than many other species. This guy is really cool when combined with our Amber Vietnam planter - it really brings that trendy south-east Asia vibe!

How to care:
Light - This guy lurks on the forest floor so it likes lots of indirect sunlight. Be careful - too much direct sunlight can cause browning of the leaves.
Water - Soil should stay evenly moist but never waterlogged. Check your plant weekly but only water once the top couple of inches of soil is dry. When watering allow excess water to drain from the bottom of the pot. Water less in winter months.
Air - These guys love humid conditions so are great for the kitchen or bathroom. You can also mist the leaves regularly to increase humidity.
Location - Ideally near a window receiving indirect sunlight but they are pretty hardy and really aren't that fussy!
Food - Use one plant food capsule (comes with the plant!) and replace after 6 months.
